MY FAVOURITE BOOKS Too many to list my friend. But some of my absolute favourites include: ~ Wicked and The Ugly Stepsister by Gregory Maguire. The first is a twist on The Wizard of Oz: Was the Wicked Witch of the West really all that Wicked and what exactly was her relationship to Glinda the Good? This has been adapted into one of my favourite musicals. The Ugly Stepsister is a re-telling of Cinderella from the ugly stepsister's POV. Basically it goes that Clara (Cinderella) is not quite so good and it is actually Iris and Ruth (the two stepsisters) who are more kindhearted. Personally I like The Ugly Stepsister better as a book than Wicked. ~ Almost everything by Sarah Dessen. I especially recommend This Lullaby (my first Sarah Dessen book <3) because of the awesome heroine. ~ Most of Meg Cabot books in relatively small doses; meaning one of her books every week or so, and I never read two in a row. Too much teenage angst. :) ~ The Black Magician Trilogy by Trudi Canavan. One of the most awesome trilogies in the fantasy genre EVER in my opinion. |
